Studio Policies

Enrollment

There is a free consultation lesson to ensure the teacher/student combo is the right fit, if the student has not already had the teacher for sectionals at school.
Payment is due at the beginning of each month.
- Half hour (30 minute) lessons are $25 per lesson (recommended for beginners)
- 45 minute lessons are $35 per lesson (recommended for intermediate students)
- 1 hour (60 minute) lessons are $45 per lesson (recommended for advanced students)

Communication

I can be reached by phone in emergencies, but prefer communicating by text or email.
Any cancellations made by the student must be communicated to the teacher at least 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling is based on lesson room availability.
If the teacher has to miss a lesson, the teacher will always schedule a makeup lesson.
Please do not come to a lesson if you are sick.

Studio Etiquette

Practice and Preparedness Expectations
- I encourage my students to spend at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week, on practicing.
- I expect my students to come to their lessons with their music, flute, a pencil, and a notebook.
Punctuality
- Please show up on time to your lesson. I will respect your time by striving to begin and end lessons as they are scheduled.
Cell phones and other distractions must be put away during lessons.
General respect and human dignity in interactions is required.

Performances

Summer semester students will play in a studio recital at the beginning of August.
Students during the regular year will play in a studio recital at the end of the Spring semester each year.
