Emory LaPrade Flute Lessons

Giving private flute lessons in upper East Tennessee

About Emory

Emory LaPrade has been playing flute for over 20 years in various ensembles, most recently the Johnson City Community Band. Emory is also on the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra’s sub list, and recently won a competition at the Kentucky Flute Society. Emory’s masterclass performances include playing for Katherine Kemler and George Pope. Previously, Emory played flute and piccolo for the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble at Tennessee Technological University, and in the pit orchestra for the Cumberland County Playhouse.

Emory’s approach to teaching involves mindfulness of mental and physical states, building on successes, and learning from failures. Lessons aim to set a strong foundation for new players, grow confidence in intermediate players, and help all students achieve their individual goals.
